PITTSBURGH, Nov. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Multi-format food and fuel retailer Giant Eagle, Inc. today announced that its Board of Directors has named Laura Shapira Karet to serve as the company's Chief Executive Officer, and John Lucot to serve as the company's President and Chief Operating Officer, effective January 9, 2012. She is a member of The Council on Foreign Relations and is the chair of The Allegheny Conference on Community Development. David is the Immediate Past Chairman of Carnegie Mellon Universitys Board of Trustees, and the current Chairman of Carnegie Mellons Investment Committee, as well as a Trustee at Oberlin College, and a Founding Co-Chairman, along with Cindy, of The Pittsburgh Promise Campaign.
